The Southampton Hospital Breast Health Center is proud to offer a wide spectrum of breast health services, including education, early detection screenings and breast cancer treatment and support. The Center utilizes state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques, including computer-assisted mammography, ultrasound and a mammotome breast biopsy system that locates breast abnormalities and obtains tissue samples. In fact, Southampton Hospital is one of only 8% of hospitals nationwide to offer full field digital mammography.
Satellite services are located conveniently in East Hampton and Hampton Bays.

Our CardioPulmonary department offers a wide range of services, including cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, pulmonary function testing, stress testing and a variety of fitness programs. If you have had a recent valve repair or replacement, heart transplant, stenting, angioplasty, open-heart surgery (CABG), heart attack or angina, our cardiac rehabilitation specialists can work with you to develop a program to help you regain your strength and improve your overall health. The Center for Advanced Wound Healing

When wounds won’t heal, it’s time for advanced treatment. Southampton Hospital is the only location on the East End offering the latest innovations for healing chronic wounds. A wound that fails to respond to treatment after four weeks or has not healed completely in eight weeks may impair your quality of life. Our sophisticated wound care practices and advanced approaches include hyperbaric oxygen therapy and other therapies proven to reduce healing time and improve healing rates. Emergency Care

Southampton Hospital’s Department of Emergency Medicine is the sole source of hospital-based emergency care from Westhampton to Montauk Point. The department treats nearly 25,000 patients every year and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with physicians who are 100% board certified in emergency medicine and with specialty-trained registered nurses. The department is recognized as a “best practice” facility in the timely administration of “clot-busting” drugs and has sophisticated, noninvasive cardiac diagnostic and monitoring technology. Every person who comes to the Emergency Department is given appropriate treatment regardless of their ability to pay.
Laboratory
The laboratory offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient blood and specimen collection at the Hospital and at convenient satellite facilities located in Hampton Bays and East Hampton. All lab services are performed with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies to ensure the most accurate analyses for our patients. Maternity

Our Maternity Department is a warm and homelike area with a friendly professional staff prepared to help you experience birth as a very special occasion. Expectant mothers are invited to tour the department, including the labor and delivery suites, to familiarize themselves with the department and meet our staff.
Our Classes for Expecting Families provide an inclusive assortment of classes to help expectant mothers and their families prepare for childbirth and childcare. Our free Beyond Delivery Orientation is a two-hour class that prepares parents for their hospital stay and is recommended during the eighth month of pregnancy for those who are new to Southampton Hospital. Other classes include Lamaze Childbirth Preparation, Breastfeeding, Baby Care Basics, Baby Safe – Infant CPR, plus a special class for bigger brothers and sisters, to help them welcome a new baby home.

Nutritional Counseling

When you need help with nutritional questions, our certified registered dietician can provide the counseling you need to help you lose weight or meet other health-related goals, such as controlling diabetes or preventing heart disease. Offices are available at both our Southampton and Hampton Bays facilities.
Pathology

Long Island Pathology, an independent pathologist-owned laboratory located at the Hospital, uses cutting-edge technologies and equipment to interpret and evaluate biopsies. Its diagnostic services include surgical pathology, cystopathology, fine-needle aspiration, second-opinion consultations and immunopathology services.
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department has an impressive selection of services to help you get stronger following injury, illness or surgery. We offer physical, occupational, cardiac, pulmonary, lymphedema, sports, massage and vestibular rehabilitation, as well as speech and swallowing therapy and yoga for breast cancer survivors, beginners and seniors. Pediatric Rehabilitation Services are also available at Southampton Hospital. The Department offers medically based pediatric rehabilitation services in occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy. Established in 2004, our pediatric rehabilitation sensory gym is now fully equipped with sensory modalities such as suspended equipment, ball pool, tactile experiences, gross motor equipment and more. Frequently treated are pediatric patients diagnosed with such conditions as Cerebral Palsey, Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Delays, ADHD/ADD and Downs Syndrome to name a few.
The Hospital also offers school-based rehabilitation services and is currently contracted to provide occupational therapy and physical therapy services to several school districts. If you are interested in a school-based program, please contact Molly Piekut, OTR/L at (631) 726-8526.
Radiology/Imaging
Southampton Hospital’s Department of Radiology offers a wide range of advanced diagnostic imaging technologies, including full-service breast imaging, cardiac imaging, 3-D ultrasound, bone densitometry, 16-slice computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear and interventional radiology, as well as routine x-rays. The Surgery Center provides both outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures and offers a comfortable, welcoming space where family members can await comprehensive progress reports during surgery. Our surgeons are skilled in many specialties, including bariatric, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, neurologic, orthopedic, plastic, ophthalmologic, thoracic, urological and dental surgery.
