East Hampton Salon supports Southampton Hospital’s Ellen Hermanson Breast Center
Southampton, NY – For the second year in a row, the Special Effects Unisex Salon in East Hampton has donated $16,200. to Southampton Hospital, representing the proceeds from their Cut-A-Thon fundraiser which was held on October 12, 2008. The check was presented through the Long Island Cancer Help & Wellness Center, a nonprofit organization with a focus on action and advocacy to eradicate breast cancer. The proceeds will be used for the new Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Southampton Hospital which is scheduled to open in May 2009. Special Effects Unisex Salon began their annual event 6 years ago and has raised $119,200, to date, much of which has been earmarked for cancer research and equipment.
