Since it first opened its doors in 1909, Southampton Hospital has stayed true to its founders’ dream of providing the best possible medical care to the East End. An affiliate of the Stony Brook University Medical Center, the Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission and offers an extensive range of ambulatory and inpatient services, from primary medical care to emergency treatment and specialized surgical procedures.
Southampton Hospital is the only major medical facility on Long Island's South Fork and serves an area that encompasses the towns of Southampton, East Hampton and Shelter Island and serves patients from across the North Fork as well. Because we want to be sure that everyone in our sizeable region has easy access to quality medical care, we have created eleven conveniently located satellite care centers that offer primary and specialty healthcare, extended service hours and community wellness programs.
Nearly all members of our medical staff are board certified in their specialties, and the Hospital and its satellite facilities are equipped with some of the most advanced diagnostic and treatment technology available today. Our laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists, and is part of an exclusive group of 6,000+ facilities worldwide that meet CAP’s stringent requirements. CAP requirements are considered the ‘gold’ standard in healthcare, and laboratories accredited by CAP not only meet but exceed Federal requirements.
