Gifts of Cash

Cash gifts may be made in the form of a check, credit card or actual cash. Please make checks payable to Southampton Hospital Foundation and mail to 240 Meeting House Lane, Southampton, NY 11968. Cash gifts should be delivered to the Foundation Office at 330 Meeting House Lane, Annex, Southampton, New York. Gifts of Securities

Gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds may be an excellent choice for funding charitable gifts and may offer significant tax benefits for the donor without impacting cash flow. Securities may be reassigned directly to Southampton Hospital Foundation or they may be transferred through your broker. Please call us for information.


Pledges

The Southampton Hospital Foundation encourages donors to consider making a financial commitment over a period of one to five years. Donors may use a pledge form or a letter of intent to pledge a gift.


Matching Gifts

Donors may double or even triple the value of their charitable gifts to Southampton Hospital through corporate matching gift programs. Many employers offer opportunities to match the charitable gifts of their employees and retirees, including spouses. Please contact your human resources department to determine if your employer has a matching gift program and to obtain information regarding specific requirements.


Gifts in Honor of or in Memory of someone special:

Many supporters of Southampton Hospital make gifts in memory of loved ones or in honor of a family member or friend. Honorary gifts may also recognize the special care a patient may have received from his or her nurse or physician. Contributions may celebrate any occasion - a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or holiday.

Southampton Hospital gratefully accepts honor and memorial gifts and treats each gift with special attention. When an honor or memorial gift is received by the Hospital, a special letter is sent to the person identified by the donor. The amount of the contribution is never revealed and the donor also receives a letter of acknowledgment.

Giving Societies

Southampton Hospital Foundation offers several giving societies to honor and recognize generous individuals, foundations, fraternal organizations, businesses and corporations who support the Hospital. They include:

The Quarter Backers are an annual giving society comprised of small businesses, fraternal and civic organizations and individuals who support specific health care programs at Southampton Hospital. For more information on the Quarter Backers please click here.

The Cabinet of 1000 is an annual giving society with five different levels comprised of individuals who contribute $1,000 or more to Southampton Hospital's Annual Appeal. For more information about The Cabinet of 1000 please click here.

The Jean Remmel FitzSimmons Society honors and recognizes generous friends who include the hospital in their estate plans. By remembering Southampton Hospital with a bequest in your will, you can perpetuate your lifetime of charitable commitment and have a significant impact on the health care of future generations. Your bequest may have estate tax planning benefits as well. The Campaign for Southampton Hospital: A Bridge to the Future

Something important is happening at Southampton Hospital. From Westhampton to Montauk, people are recognizing that their hospital has charted a new course. Strong leadership, financial stability, dynamic new programs, favorable patient satisfaction feedback and innovative partnerships with physicians and other health care providers have strengthened our capacity to provide high quality, compassionate care. Today, we are poised to embark upon a new era of health care for residents and visitors throughout the East End.

Building Upon 100 Years of Healing

From the vantage point of Southampton Hospital’s Centennial, celebrate our legacy and plan for the future. One hundred years since its founding, much has changed, in both the complexities of the community and the way that health care is delivered. Keeping people well parallels our need to treat the injured and the ill. Acquiring the most modern equipment and medical technology strengthens our ability to attract and retain the most highly qualified physicians. Specialized care for women and families must be accessible in a convenient and comprehensive setting. All of this, driven by the commitment and support of our friends and benefactors, will define the Southampton Hospital of the next century.

Meeting A Higher Standard

Southampton Hospital recently received the ranking of Distinguished Hospital for Patient Safety by HealthGrades, an independent auditor of hospitals, among only 7 hospitals in New York State and 249 nationwide to have been singled out for this rating. It is a reflection of the value placed on exceptional and compassionate patient care throughout the Hospital.

But merely to maintain the status quo would mean inevitably to fall behind. That is why Southampton Hospital has undertaken a process of examining all of its programs, services and leadership structures. It is vital to address some priority concerns as soon as possible, such as upgrading emergency services and completing new clinical centers. At the same time, the Hospital seeks to successfully create a long-term, comprehensive healthcare delivery program for the future, both within the hospital walls and in satellite programs to serve our surrounding communities.

In order to build a bridge to a new healthcare future for the East End, Southampton Hospital is embarking on a capital campaign. Funding to address the vital needs identified below will provide a solid foundation upon which the Hospital for the next century will ultimately be created.
