Southampton Hospital Donates Furniture to Kitwe
Central Hospital in Zambia
Southampton NY- Hospital employees and volunteers load a container with furniture and medical equipment that Southampton Hospital will no longer be needing to be sent to the Kitwe Central Hospital in Zambia. Dr. Scott Silverberg and Dr. Florence Rolston led a team to the area in the Spring of 2008 and plan to return in the Spring of 2009, again, with medical and surgical teams to treat the indigent. The team is currently raising money for the shipping costs through the Sag Harbor based organization, Raphael Ministries.
In addition, the organization is trying to raise enough funds to bring an 8 year old girl with a severely contracted arm to Southampton Hospital to be operated on by Dr. James Brady.
