Southampton Hospital is thankful for the generosity of our volunteers, community members, former patients and thoughtful friends who contribute their valuable time to help support our important work. Our volunteers are valued partners who approach their work with commitment to excellence and quality.
Volunteer positions are available throughout the year with certain positions for college and high school students exploring careers in healthcare. Volunteer opportunities are offered to individuals of all ages over 15 and volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of 3 hours per week. Volunteers between the ages of 15 and 18 are registered as Junior Volunteers and will not be eligible for positions in clinical/patient areas. Compassionate Care (NODA) volunteers must be 21 years or older and be able to commit to a 3-4 hour on-call shift each week.
Volunteers over 18 years of age will be required to undergo a background check prior to being accepted into the volunteer program. In addition, a PPD screen, a medical reference signed by your physician (included in volunteer application package), and attendance at Hospital Orientation is required.
Applications are available for download below and should be returned by mail or fax. Applications are also available for pick-up at the Hospital's main lobby Concierge Desk or outside the Volunteer Office located in Room 107, opposite Medical Records.
